Balance Live 2018 - London training workshop for church tech volunteers

Looking on my experience and time as someone who both volunteers at a local church and who delivers tech training at local churches, one thing thing has become very clear to me.

Investing in people is just as, if not more important than investing in tech.

Now, of course it’s super important to have a well designed and correctly implemented system to work with. Having such a system will work wonders when serving our church families week in week out. But I don’t think that it should be the main priority. It’s easy to think we can achieve goals just by upgrading this, and changing that.

Excellent production comes firstly from having good volunteers. Not just those with a high skill base – as important as that is. It’s their approach to the role of a tech volunteer that will impact how they serve their local church.

Balance exists to provide training and resources for church tech volunteers

Balance Live 2018

9th June 2018

This is why I’m excited to be hosting our first regional Balance Live workshop in central London. At this workshop, we’ll be providing valuable hands on experience and training on many areas relating to sound and A/V. We’ll be looking at how to take these skills and use them at your local church. But above all, we’ll get to spend some time in the Bible, looking at how Christ’s death on the cross shapes our attitude in serving.

This event is for anybody and everybody who serves on a church tech team. Our vision for Balance is to resource teams and volunteers to serve their church with production, so that the Gospel can be clearly proclaimed. We hope to see you there!
